Simple flat fees, with no hourly billing surprises. Agency fees are billed at cost.

Flat fee per request. One request to one agency for a single record set:
- Police or incident report
- Accident or crash report
- Booking or jail records
- A routine CORA request to a city, county, or state agency
Includes drafting, filing, one follow-up, and delivery. Each additional agency or request is another $150.

Flat fee per request. A request counts as complex if it involves any of these:
- Body cam or dash cam video
- 911 audio or dispatch recordings
- Large requests: internal affairs files, many records, or long date ranges
- Contested requests or appeals: a written challenge after a denial, a heavily redacted release, or an excessive fee estimate
One agency per request. Each additional agency is billed as its own request.

Criminal Background Check (includes arrest records). One individual, conducted by a BrightStar Investigations investigator, not an instant database printout.

- Arrests, charges, and dispositions

What's included in every flat fee
- Drafting a precise, statute-cited request (Standard: one request to one agency)
- Filing it through the agency's required portal, form, or email
- Tracking it and sending one follow-up
- Delivering whatever the agency releases to you securely
Not included
- Unlimited follow-ups, re-filing, or new requests
- Legal analysis or advice
- Reviewing, summarizing, or interpreting the records
- Phone consultations
- Agency fees (billed to you at cost, and we always ask before you pay)
Extra work is billed separately only with your written approval at $___/hour.
No results are guaranteed. Agencies decide what to release, and some records may be denied or redacted by law. Our fee pays for our work in preparing, filing, and tracking your request. It is not refundable once we file, because the agency's decision is out of our control.
